River’s Edge - stitched by hand
This is the first in a series of exploring and coming to terms with the devastation of the flooding that occurred in downtown Montpelier, July 2023. How can a simple line with a surge have such an impact? I lived around the corner from the Kellogg-Hubbard library, and my apartment building was surrounded by over 3.5 feet of water. How disorienting it was to see familiar objects, buildings, the landscape become part of the river. Muddy and polluted, fierce and mean. Water Data for this graph was taken from the USGS.gov. |
