road trip

Life on the road. 8,000 miles on the road, solo. When I started this road trip the plan was to revisit northern california and the familiar surroundings of where I used to live and to make a decision. Should I stay in California or come back to Vermont. The journey that happened along the way....I'm still processing it.

I think road trips are good for the soul. I learned that letting go of control doesn't mean that you are out of control it means that you are allowing life to unfold as it should. To be truly open to unexpected daily experiences. Along the way, questioning ~ What is home? Where is home? This moment is my home. How important is my connection to the landscape? Can I live without the ocean in my backyard? redwoods? hot springs? How crucial are fireflies, the smell of lilacs and swimming holes in my life?

Hearing about my recent road trip someone commented, “you really live outside the box.” My response, “oh, there’s a box?”
