IN PROCESS
October 2007

It's been a lingering autumn. A time for transition and reflection. Been spending early mornings and late afternoons crunching through the autumn leaves, enjoying the crisp air, the smell of wood fires and sitting by the river saying good-bye. My artwork has definetly been influenced by the vermont landscape. Living in an art community is stimulating, exciting, and exhausting. Keeping a balance of studio time, social time and working plus the usual life practicalities, is always a challenge.

Working at the Vermont Studio Center for the past 2 years has been an unforgettable and extraordinary experience. I have met over 1,200 artists and writers from the usa and all over the world. While difficult and heartbreaking to leave it just felt like the right time to move on. I managed to fit my housing and studio into my car after several tries and profound determination! Thank you to the vsc community and the many artists and writers who have touched my life. A favorite line from a Tracy Chapman song, "save a place for me in your heart," that's how I feel about Vermont.
